Autopill - Assistive Pill Dispenser
Project type
Engineering, Medicine
Date
Summer 2024
Location
Singapore
I designed and prototyped a low-tech assistive pill dispenser for patients with visual and fine-motor impairments.
Market research was first done by surveying medical practitioners and patients to determine user requirements.
I then applied design for accessibility principles and standards to cater to impaired strength and dexterity of target audience. The prototype was modelled in Fusion360, and manufactured with an FDM 3D printer.
Test audiences expressed a 100% satisfaction rate with design concept, and the product was submitted to a business pitch competition hosted by the National University of Singapore. The product passed the initial round of mock pitches, and was recommended for patenting.
